Doctors can now contact the Doctors Technology Office (DTO) for centralized technical support including support for complex IT technical issues such as:
Timely resolutions of clinic issues that affect EMR /network operations.
- Capturing, transferring, and sharing information within and across systems.
- Using electronic forms, templates, and requisitions.
- Aligning and liaising between EMR vendors, organizations, and others involved in eHealth in BC.
To keep doctors informed and to provide best practices for technical challenges, the DTO produces technical bulletins in direct response to real world issues experienced by clinics or the health care sector, while others are proactive alerts.
A joint initiative of the Government of BC and Doctors of BC, the DTO is funded by the General Practice Services Committee, Shared Care Committee, and the Specialists Services Committee.
